Personalized 1:1 Sessions with Norman

We can work with you in person (preferred) or over Zoom.

1. Assessment

We start each session by consulting with you about your needs, assessing postural alignment and movement, looking for patterns of tension and stress that underlie the problems you’ve identified.

2. Gentle Hands-On Techniques

We customize all our efforts to eliminate pain and restore normal joint function.

How do we do this?
  • We access your nervous system through your bones, joints, and breath.
  • We help you decompress your joints.
  • We help you balance your skeletal core.

    3. Home Programs are
    Part of Your Healing

We teach you specialized, fun movements and programs to enhance the individualized work we are doing together.

We use gentle movements and postures to support your joints, muscles, organs and your nervous system so you can
    thrive in your life.

Learn specific tools to support your progress in this enjoyable, gentle, and powerful, approach to healing.
  • Do We Work with the Joints of the Body?

Yes, in fact our motto is "joints for life."

We customize our work together to address your concerns. With gentle hands-on techniques, during in person appointments, we access the nervous system through the bones and joints of the body, decompressing, and balancing the skeletal core, all with the purpose of eliminating debilitating pain and restoring normal joint function.

For students at a distance as well as in person, all the movement education is designed to help you decompress and lubricate your joints. This is a unique practice, utilizing gentle, quite enjoyable movements that help you learn to connect, coordinate, and use just what you need to move.

Either way, we’re finding students are skiing, vacuuming, whatever, with more fluid and comfortable movement.

    Do We Also Work
    with the Muscles?

Yes, working from the bones outward (mostly simultaneously with hands-on, your home practice, or in classes), I integrate your muscles and connective tissues with your bones and joints.

We provide tools for developing strength and flexibility with “intelligent yoga!”

We really don’t treat muscles and joints as separate things. They work in concert with each other, of course, to help us accomplish all the wonderful movements we do every day.

    What About
    Stress and Tension?

Much of our approach focuses on the self-regulation of your autonomic nervous system. Working with what we call the 6 keys of self-regulation (link), we offer both one-on-one assistance as well as classes that guide you toward greater control.

We deeply listen into the bones, muscles, connective tissues, and visceral organs of your body. This assists in restoring physiological balance, mental clarity (including issues with closed head injuries) and muscular relaxation.

At a distance, we clearly and easily instruct you to coordinate your breath
    and your movement.

Whether in-person or at a distance, we want your developing practice to belong to you, not be dependent on us.

    Is Our Approach
    Forceful or Gentle?

All of our hands-on work is done with gentle and powerful movements, much of it while being supported with slings providing a deeply relaxing state of buoyancy and fluidity.

I Would Like to Learn Tools for Dealing with my Problems. Is There an Opportunity for That?

Yes, in every individual session, whether in-person or at a distance, we provide and/or review home programs designed to support your healing and well-being. Additionally, we have ongoing classes every week in our studio and over zoom. We post the recordings in our library so you’re never without a class, regardless of your time zone or your availability. Home programs and classes are ways to reduce expenses and maximize healing.
